The UNI Tallgrass Prairie Center is hosting  a field day demonstration for their Prairie on Farms Project. The field day will be held on September 16th in Nashua at the ISU Borlaug Learning Center. Participants will have the opportunity to compare three commonly used prairie mixes and look at the difference between plots that have been mowed versus not mowed.

Prairie plantings provide multiple benefits to a farm including help with flood reduction, nutrient reduction, soil conservation, promote wildlife and are important for pollinators.
