The Spring 2017 Iowa Watershed Academy training event is on May 9th-10th, 2017 at the ISU Field Extension Education Lab west of Ames. This event will feature communication skills development and edge-of-field practice design and implementation. Day one will focus on developing messages to effectively communicate with farmers, the media, and project stakeholders to increase public engagement with your projects. Day two will focus on scaling up edge-of-field practice implementation through hands-on field training on saturated buffer siting, field data collection, construction, and checkout. This event is sponsored by the Iowa Natural Resources Conservation Service, Soil and Water Conservation Society, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance, Conservation Districts of Iowa, and Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. Due to the generous support from these organizations, there is no registration fee.
